Turkey Initiates Surveillance on Elevator Parts

Turkey, through Communiqué no. 2010/2 on the Application of Surveillance in Importation published in the on the 25th of February, 2009, initiated import surveillance for elevator parts classifed under HS code 8431.31.

Surveillance will be applied prospectively to imports with a CIF unit value under two USD Dolars per kilograms.

Products subject to surveillance can only be imported after obtaining a Surveillance Document to be issued by the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Foreing Trade. Imports of 1000 kilograms or less under a single customs declaration is exempt from the surveillance measure.

Turkey initiates expiry review of anti-dumping duties on fasteners

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/7 published on the 10th of March, initiated an expiry review of anti-dumping duties on slide fasteners originating from China.

Turkey initiates expiry review of anti-dumping duties on articifial leathers

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/5 published on the 22nd of January, initiated an expiry review of anti-dumping duties on textile fabrics impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyurethane/artificial leathers/others originating from China.

Turkey initiates expiry review of anti-dumping duties on drilling tools

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/4 published on the 22nd of January, initiated an expiry review of anti-dumping on interchangeable tools for drilling metals with working parts of high speed steel originating from China.

Turkey Iniates Anti-Dumping Investigation on Glass Fiber

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/3 published on the 22nd of January, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on glass fiber reinforcement materials originating from China.

European Union and India had also initiated investigation on the same product.

Turkey imposes anti-dumping duties on flanges

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/2 published on the 22nd of January, imposed anti-dumping duties of 663 USD/ton on flanges, butt welding elbows, bends and others originating from China.

Turkey imposes preliminary anti-dumping duties on curtain, curtain cloth and upholstery

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2010/1 published on the 22nd of January, imposed preliminary anti-dumping duties on certain made-up textile articles and fabrics made of artificial or synthetic fibers originating from China. The products under consideration are mainly curtains, curtain cloth and upholstery. The rate of the preliminary duties is 70.44 % of the CIF price.

Egypt Looking into Anti-Dumping Action Against Turkish Steel

According to a news article from Reuters dated 19th of January, Egyptian Minister Rachid Mohamed Rachid stated that his government is looking into anti-dumping action against steel products originating from Turkey. The statement was made during a visit by the Turkish Minister of Trade and Industry Nihat Ergün.

Egyptian producer Ezz Steel had complained about rising imports from Turkey in November last year.

Pocket Lighters: Measure to Expiry

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/39 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27084 dated 18th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_872.html), declared that the anti-dumping measure against gas fuelled, refillable pocket lighters with ignition systems other than electrical ignition systems from the People's Republic of China is going to expire on the 11th of November 2008 unless domestic producers submit a petition for the initiation of an expiry (sunset) review.

Turkey has also imposed anti-dumping duties on gas fuelled, refillable pocket lighters with electrical ignition systems. This measure was re-newed following an expiry review in April 2008.

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/39 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27084 dated 18th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_872.html), declared that the anti-dumping measure against ropes and cables (including locked coil ropes) from the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China is going to expire on the 1st of December 2008 unless domestic producers submit a petition for the initiation of an expiry (sunset) review.

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/40 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27092 dated 26th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_29.html), initiated an anti-dumping investigation on monoethylene glycol (MEG) originating from Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Turkey to continue anti-dumping duties on hook and loop fasteners

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/36 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27084 dated 18th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_4134.html), determined that revoking the existing anti-dumping duties of 3.86 USD/kg. for hook and loop fasteners originating from the People’s Republic of China and of 1.83 USD/kg. for those originating from Taiwan is likely to result in the continuation or reoccurrence of dumping and injury. The original measure was imposed in December 2002.

Turkey to continue anti-dumping duties on pencils and crayons

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/34 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27084 dated 18th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_4431.html), determined that revoking the existing anti-dumping duty on pencils and crayons, with leads encased in a rigid sheath originating from the People’s Republic of China is likely to result in the continuation or reoccurrence of dumping and injury. The original anti-dumping duty of 3.16 USD per 144 units that was imposed in January 2003 will remain in force without being modified.

Turkey imposes anti-dumping duties on oriented strand board

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/34 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27084 dated 18th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_20.html), imposed anti-dumping duties of 24.10 % of the CIF value for oriented strand board (OSD) originating from the United States of America and 14.93 % of the CIF value for those originating from Canada. The investigation was initiated in June.

Turkey initiates anti-dumping investigations on glass lids

The Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, through Communiqué no. 2008/38 published in the Turkish Official Gazette no. 27083 dated 17th of December 2008 (http://antidamping.blogspot.com/2008/12/ithalatta-haksz-rekabetin-nlenmesine_19.html), initiated an anti-dumping investigation on lids of glass for stewpots, frying pans and teapots originating from Indonesia and Hong Kong.

The Undersecretariat also initiated an expiry (sunset) review of existing anti-dumping duties on those originating from the People’s Republic of China.
