Ball Bearings: Turkey Initiates Surveillance

Turkey, through Communiqué no. 2008/18 on the Application of Surveillance in Importation published in the Offical Gazette no. 26962 of 9th of August, 2008, extended the current import surveillance for certain ball or roller bearings classified under harmonised system nomenclature code 8482 10 to include those with a diameter of less than 30 milimetres.

Surveillance will be applied prospectively to imports with a CIF unit value under ten USD Dolars per kilograms.

Products subject to surveillance can only be imported after obtaining a Surveillance Document to be issued by the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Foreing Trade. Imports of 50 kilograms or less under a single customs declaration is exempt from the surveillance measure.
